Steve Cortes, founder of the League of American Workers (LAW), said the arrests of two criminal Mexican illegal aliens in Phoenix show how immigration enforcement under President Trump is protecting Arizona families from repeat offenders.
“This is what Arizonans voted for in 2024,” Cortes told PHX Reporter. “President Trump is doing the job that Joe Biden and extremists like Katie Hobbs refused to do: enforce the law.”
“Arizona families are now safer without these two illegal alien criminals on the streets,” said Cortes.
Cortes is a former Trump campaign adviser. He previously worked in finance and later became a frequent political analyst on CNBC, CNN, and Fox News, where he emphasized populist themes and Latino outreach.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Phoenix announced two recent arrests of Mexican illegal aliens with criminal records and outstanding charges.
ICE Phoenix officers arrested Luis Alberto Alba Garcia, 39, on Sep. 29. According to ICE, Alba Garcia has two prior convictions for drunk driving and is wanted in Arkansas on a warrant for sexual assault. Garcia was listed by ICE as one of the “Worst of the Worst” illegal aliens arrested throughout the country in September.
Days earlier, on Sept. 26, ICE Phoenix reported the arrest of Jaziel Sanchez-Enriquez, 29. Officials said Sanchez-Enriquez has a prior conviction for possession of dangerous drugs for sale.
ICE stated that both arrests were part of enforcement actions focused on individuals who pose threats to public safety.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a federal law enforcement agency under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. It enforces immigration laws, investigates customs violations, and works to prevent crimes such as human trafficking and drug smuggling.
The ICE Phoenix field office oversees enforcement operations in Arizona. Its officers carry out arrests, removals, and investigations in coordination with federal, state, and local partners.
