Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari has recently made several statements on her official Twitter account, addressing support for workers’ rights, calling for the impeachment of Pete Hegseth, and recognizing local community leaders.

On May 1, 2026, Ansari posted: “I’ll always support workers in the ongoing fight for better wages, benefits, and working conditions. I’ll always fight to make it easier to collectively bargain and encourage workers to form a union. This #InternationalWorkersDay, I stand in solidarity with workers everywhere.”

Later that same day, she wrote: “Pete Hegseth showed the American people this week that he’s unfit to serve. There’s a reason I’ve introduced Articles of Impeachment against him and I urge my colleagues to join our effort.” The tweet follows her recent legislative action regarding Hegseth.

On May 2, 2026, Ansari highlighted the work of Miguel Alvarado: “For over two decades, Miguel Alvarado has shown up for his neighbors with consistency and heart, and that includes leading the Guadalupe Car Show. His work reminds us that strong communities are built by those who show up, and I’m proud to represent him in Congress.”

Yassamin Ansari was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Jeff Zink in the general election by a significant margin—securing 70.9% of the vote compared to Zink’s 26.6%.
