Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari used her social media platform on April 7, 2026, to criticize former President Donald Trump’s recent statements regarding Iran, describing them as apocalyptic and calling for urgent action from fellow lawmakers.

In a post at 15:33 UTC, Ansari wrote: “More Republicans need to speak up immediately. This is apocalyptic. Donald Trump is a threat to the entire world.”

Later that day at 16:09 UTC, she stated: “Trump woke up this morning threatening genocide against a country of 90 million people.

We should be back in DC RIGHT NOW to stop this deranged madman from blowing up the world. Does this seem urgent to you, @SpeakerJohnson? How can you sleep at night??”

At 17:35 UTC, Ansari posted: “Donald Trump is threatening genocide and war crimes against the Iranian civilian population. His rhetoric is apocalyptic. This is a grave moment in world history and we should all be doing everything in our power to stop him.”

Yassamin Ansari was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Jeff Zink in the general election with approximately 71% of the vote compared to Zink’s 27%. Her recent posts come amid heightened tensions over U.S.-Iran relations and reflect ongoing debates among lawmakers about foreign policy and presidential rhetoric.
