Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari has recently made several statements on her official social media account addressing national policy issues and local community support initiatives.
On March 9, 2026, Ansari criticized the construction of a new monument associated with former President Donald Trump. She stated, “Trump’s arch is a waste of taxpayer dollars, a monument to his ego, and a platform for his authoritarian ambitions. Its construction without Congressional approval is a blatant violation of federal law, and I’ve joined my colleagues in challenging it.”
The following day, on March 10, 2026, Ansari addressed the death of Emmanuel Clifford Damas while in ICE custody. She wrote, “Emmanuel Clifford Damas begged for medical help for a toothache. ICE gave him nothing but ibuprofen. Days later, he died of sepsis. Another preventable death. This is sickening. ICE must be held accountable for their crimes. No family should ever have to endure this again.”
On March 11, 2026, Ansari highlighted her engagement with Southwest Human Development in Arizona by stating, “Southwest Human Development plays a critical role in supporting children and families across Arizona. Today, I had the chance to sit down with their incredibly hardworking staff to learn more about the work they do and how I can support it. I’ll continue to fight for investments”.
Yassamin Ansari was elected to Congress after defeating Jeff Zink in the 2024 general election by securing over seventy percent of the vote.
