Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, who represents her district after winning the 2024 general election against Jeff Zink with 70.9% of the vote, has recently posted a series of statements on her Twitter account addressing national political issues and legislative developments.
On May 21, 2026, Ansari criticized Republican leaders in a post stating: “The unabashed racism coming from the very top of the Republican Party with Donald Trump—echoed and amplified by bigots like Randy Fine and Nancy Mace—is sickening. They attack duly elected Members of Congress because of sheer racism. And it has real, dangerous consequences.”
Later that day, she announced legislative progress in housing policy, writing: “BIG NEWS: The House just passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act. This transformative bill builds on policies I implemented back home before coming to Congress—because no one should ever have to choose between keeping a roof over their head or putting food on the table.”
In another statement on May 21, Ansari commented on congressional scheduling and party dynamics: “The House is breaking until JUNE Republicans cancelled votes because they don’t have enough members to support more money for ICE, Donald Trump’s ballroom, and a slush fund to pay off January 6 rioters. The GOP is in disarray.”
Ansari’s remarks come as she continues her first term in Congress following her decisive victory over Jeff Zink in 2024. Her comments highlight ongoing partisan divisions within the U.S. House of Representatives.
