Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari has publicly addressed the firing of former Attorney General Pam Bondi, emphasizing her continued obligation to testify before Congress regarding an alleged cover-up.
On April 2, 2026, Ansari stated in a tweet: “Pam Bondi helped carry out the most egregious cover up in American history. That’s why I introduced Articles of Impeachment against her. She may be fired, but she is not above the law. Bondi must still comply with our subpoena and testify before the Oversight Committee about https://t.co/mLOnUPDFTR”.
Later that day, Ansari questioned whether gender played a role in recent dismissals within government leadership. She wrote: “Noem and Bondi were both awful and committed egregious, impeachable offenses. But isn’t it… interesting… that it’s just the women getting fired? Kash Patel and Pete Hegseth each have a laundry list of scandals under their belts and should be fired as well. Hmmmm.”.
In a subsequent post on April 2, Ansari reiterated her expectation for Bondi’s testimony: “Pam Bondi may have been fired as AG, but she’s still obligated to testify under oath before the Oversight Committee. We’ll see you on April 14th. https://t.co/S1cX2YbeWO”.
Ansari, who was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Jeff Zink with nearly 71% of the vote, has maintained a focus on oversight and accountability since taking office.
