Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari has used her social media platform to call attention to civilian casualties in an ongoing conflict and to express condolences following violence at a place of worship.

On March 12, 2026, Ansari wrote, “One of the first strikes of this illegal war killed 175 civilians, including many children, at an elementary school. I joined @RepSaraJacobs and @RepJasonCrow with 100+ colleagues demanding an investigation and answers from @SecWar on preventing further civilian harm.” The post highlights a congressional effort to seek accountability for civilian deaths and calls for measures to prevent future harm.

Later that day, Ansari posted a link without additional comment: “https://t.co/jFNP8nrQzm”.

In another message posted on March 12, she responded to reports of violence at a community location: “Heartbreaking news. I am thinking of all those affected and their families. Violence is never acceptable, especially at places of peaceful worship and community.”

Yassamin Ansari was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Jeff Zink in the general election with over 70% of the vote.
