Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari has recently used her social media platform to address several pressing issues, including oversight at a correctional facility, legal proceedings involving former President Donald Trump, and the importance of knowing civil rights.

On March 13, 2026, Ansari reported on her visit to the Florence Correctional Center in the aftermath of Emmanuel Damas’s death. She stated, “I visited the Florence Correctional Center to conduct an oversight visit following the death of Emmanuel Damas. To my surprise, I was met by CoreCivic’s private legal counsel and denied the ability to speak with detainees. This is unacceptable. I will be returning next Friday.”

Later that same day, Ansari commented on legal developments concerning former President Trump, writing on March 13, 2026: “This is a massive deal. Trump must testify immediately.”

The following day, March 14, 2026, she highlighted the significance of understanding individual rights in Arizona: “It’s more crucial than ever that you know your rights—your rights if you’re detained by ICE, your rights to protest, your rights to document what you see, and your rights to help your fellow Arizonans. Ansari was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Jeff Zink in the general election with over 70% of the vote.
