The City of Phoenix announced on April 1 that it is recognizing April as National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The city launched the Let’s Talk Teal public education campaign in 2019 to encourage conversations and prevent sexual violence.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about sexual assault and provide resources for those affected. The Strategic Initiatives team leads these efforts by hosting activities and sharing information with the community.

Residents are encouraged to access available support services if they or someone they know needs help. Resources include the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800-656-HOPE (4673), the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence Helpline at 602-279-2980, and the City of Phoenix Family Advocacy Center at 602-534-2120.

More information about events, resources, and ways to participate can be found at Phoenix.gov/LetsTalkTeal.

The city’s ongoing commitment highlights its focus on supporting survivors and educating residents about prevention strategies.
