Roster preparations for the 2026 season have started for the Arizona Cardinals, who have signed four players to “futures” contracts. The signings include defensive back Jaden Davis, wide receiver Bryson Green, and linebackers Elliott Brown and Eku Leota. These transactions were reported in the NFL’s official transactions list.
Jaden Davis was selected by the Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2024 draft. Due to injuries in the team’s secondary, he saw playing time late in the season and made his NFL debut in Week 16 against the Falcons, recording two tackles. Davis spent most of his first two seasons on the practice squad before being elevated for Weeks 16-18 of last season.
Elliott Brown joined the Cardinals from the Canadian Football League (CFL) prior to training camp last year. While he did not play during the regular season, he remained on the practice squad as he adjusted from CFL to NFL play. In 2024 with Edmonton Elks, Brown was tied for league leader in sacks with eight.
Bryson Green and Eku Leota were added to Arizona’s practice squad midway through last season. Leota previously spent time with both the Panthers and Saints after entering the league as an undrafted rookie.
“Futures” contracts secure these players’ rights through offseason activities but do not officially take effect until March 11, when the new league year begins.
The Arizona Cardinals are recognized as one of professional football’s oldest franchises, originating in 1898 and currently representing Phoenix while playing home games in Glendale as part of the NFC West division (official website). The team has a history that includes NFL championships in both 1925 and 1947 (official website).
