Kyler Murray, the Arizona Cardinals quarterback, appeared tired yet satisfied after an intense 24-23 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. This win at Levi’s Stadium was a hard-fought comeback against last year’s NFC champions.

“(A win) does wonders for us,” Murray expressed post-game.

The turning point came from linebacker Jesse Luketa, who forced a fumble inside the Cardinals’ 10-yard line. Mack Wilson Sr. recovered the ball, halting what seemed to be a certain touchdown drive for the 49ers. The subsequent drive featured key plays by James Conner and Marvin Harrison Jr., leading to a crucial 35-yard field goal by Chad Ryland.

Jalen Thompson’s blitz on 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy resulted in an interception by Kyzir White, sealing the game for Arizona. White remarked on his decisive play, “My eyes got real wide.”

Head coach Jonathan Gannon noted the team’s resilience: “There was no panic.” The Cardinals began strongly with Murray’s impressive touchdown run but faced setbacks including blocked field goals and interceptions. Despite trailing at halftime, their defense held firm in the second half.

James Conner contributed significantly with 86 yards on 19 carries. Reflecting on his role, Conner stated, “My job is to put the ball in the right spot.”

Murray highlighted a crucial fourth-down play involving Marvin Harrison Jr., which kept their hopes alive: “That’s an unbelievable play,” said Gannon.

Injuries also played a part; starting right guard Will Hernandez left due to an injury caused by Nick Bosa during a play.
