On Wednesday, reports indicated that the Arizona Cardinals have requested an interview with Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith as part of their ongoing search for a new head coach. Smith previously served as the Atlanta Falcons’ head coach from 2021 to 2023 and has been the Steelers’ offensive coordinator for the past two seasons.
Despite Mike Tomlin stepping down as head coach of the Steelers earlier this week, team owner Art Rooney II stated, “no one on the current staff would be considered for Tomlin’s vacancy.”
The Cardinals also reportedly reached out to John Harbaugh. However, sources said Harbaugh is only planning interviews with the New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, and Tennessee Titans at this time.
So far, there has been no official confirmation from the Cardinals regarding any candidates in their coaching search. Reports suggest that some names were contacted for interviews but not all are confirmed to be receiving them.
