Trey McBride’s performance was a highlight for the Arizona Cardinals in their recent game against the Seattle Seahawks, despite his frustration following the team’s loss. The tight end achieved a franchise record with 12 catches, totaling 133 yards, yet it wasn’t enough to secure a victory.

The NFC West remains competitive, with the Cardinals still in contention. Their upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings is crucial as they prepare for another encounter with the Seahawks at home in two weeks.

The Cardinals’ defense showed strength during the game. Key moments included Kyzir White’s near-interception and rookie Xavier Thomas missing a sack on Geno Smith. Defensive coordinator Nick Rallis had been asked by head coach Gannon to keep a “tight menu” against Smith, though Gannon later reflected he should have been better prepared.

Despite allowing only 16 points—the fewest since a 2018 loss to the Bears—the Cardinals’ offense struggled. Quarterback Kyler Murray underwent a concussion check but was cleared after being winded. Michael Wilson made an impressive 30-yard catch that set up a field goal, though it was insufficient on a day with limited offensive success.

On defense, L.J. Collier faced his former team and recorded a sack, expressing disappointment over not securing a win. Jonah Williams returned at right tackle but acknowledged challenges in establishing the run game.

A controversial play involving Murray led to what initially seemed like a Seahawks touchdown; however, replay overturned it as an incompletion. Seahawks defensive lineman Leonard Williams received praise from Gannon for his impactful performance.

James Conner struggled to reach his usual effectiveness on the ground, correlating with past team successes when he surpasses 100 scrimmage yards. On defense, Zaven Collins and Dante Stills achieved career-best sack totals this season.

As they return home, the Cardinals will focus on improving both offensively and defensively ahead of their next matchup.
