As the Arizona Cardinals commenced their organized team activities (OTAs), the team’s offensive unit largely mirrored its composition from 2024. Running back James Conner expressed the sense of responsibility within the group, stating, “It’s our job to get the ball in the end zone with the group that we got right now.”

The consistency within the offensive lineup has been a focal point for offensive coordinator Drew Petzing. He noted that continuity allows for more advanced discussions and strategies without revisiting basic principles. “You can maybe step into some next level stuff in some more detail,” Petzing said.

General Manager Monti Ossenfort and Head Coach Jonathan Gannon have shown confidence in maintaining much of last year’s offense. The previous season saw significant achievements, including Trey McBride’s 1,000-plus receiving yards and Conner’s similar feat in rushing yards. Quarterback Kyler Murray also reached over 3,000 passing yards.

Marvin Harrison Jr.’s performance shifted positively towards the end of last season, particularly against teams like the Rams and 49ers. Petzing highlighted changes in Harrison’s positioning but clarified there was no drastic shift in his role.

Harrison ended his rookie year with eight touchdowns and 885 yards but is aiming higher this year. He’s been engaged in ongoing discussions with Petzing about further development.

Petzing emphasized how familiarity can enhance team performance: “There’s certain things now that you get to pay attention to that allow you to be more effective.” This perspective aims at improving pre-snap decisions and overall game speed.

Conner stressed the importance of current efforts during OTAs as foundational for future success: “Winning stands for What’s Important Now,” he remarked. As they continue their preparations, there’s an underlying belief that key connections within the team will strengthen moving forward.
