Calais Campbell will once again don the No. 93 jersey, a number he popularized during his initial nine-year term with the team. Last season, Justin Jones, a fellow defensive lineman, wore the number. However, Jones has agreed to switch to No. 98 to accommodate Campbell.
In addition to Campbell’s return, the new rookie class has been assigned their numbers. Walter Nolen III, a first-round pick, will wear No. 97 on the defensive line. Second-round cornerback Will Johnson is set to take No. 0. Pass rusher Jordan Burch will take No. 52, while inside linebacker Cody Simon will sport No. 50. The draft class also includes cornerback Denzel Burke with No. 29, guard Hayden Conner with No. 58, and safety Kitan Crawford who will wear No. 36.
Incoming free agents apart from Campbell have also received their numbers. Josh Sweat takes No. 10, defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson will have No. 94, and quarterback Jacoby Brissett will wear No. 7, a jersey previously donned by Kyzir White. Also, linebackers Akeem Davis-Gaither and Mykal Walker will wear Nos. 27 and 43, respectively. Pass rusher Baron Browning will change his number from 53 to 5, a number he previously wore in college and with the Broncos.
