Three Banner Urgent Care clinics in northeastern Arizona are set for a transition to Banner Same-Day Care clinics this summer. This change aims to enhance access to affordable and continuous care for residents and their families.

As of July 28, the Banner Urgent Care facilities in Payson, Pinetop-Lakeside, and Show Low will start operating under the new model. They will remain part of Banner Medical Group, a significant non-profit healthcare provider. These clinics will continue handling urgent illnesses and will introduce online scheduling for non-urgent appointments, available from the same day to three days in advance. Focusing on a primary care model, the clinics will support preventive care and continuity with familiar providers.

“We recognize the need for better primary care options in our rural communities, which is why we decided to make this change,” stated Hoyt Skabelund, CEO of Banner Payson Medical Center. “We’re excited to help offer people more options for quality care, whether that means walking in after an unexpected injury or scheduling an appointment in advance for less urgent health concerns.”

These clinics will employ a team-based approach, enabling them to create specialized treatment plans, write prescriptions, and address ongoing health needs. The combination of advanced scheduling and walk-in availability aims to provide personalized and accessible care.

The locations and phone numbers for these clinics will remain unchanged, with new operating hours from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, and closed on Sundays.

Banner Medical Group, affiliated with Banner Health, consists of more than 1,300 physicians and advanced practitioners across 65 specialties with over 3,500 total staff in Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, and Wyoming. Their primary care providers and specialists attend to patients both in clinics and hospitals. More information can be found on their website, bannerhealth.com/doctors.
