Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix has received its fifth consecutive Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Commission on Magnet. This distinction is considered a benchmark for nursing excellence and is awarded to healthcare organizations that show high standards in nursing practice, patient care, and leadership.
The hospital now joins a select group of less than 1% of facilities worldwide that have achieved this level of recognition five times. The process for receiving the Magnet designation involves submitting detailed documentation and undergoing an extensive on-site evaluation. Banner was recognized for several factors, including innovative patient care, evidence-based practices, collaboration between nurses and physicians, and efforts to prevent workplace violence.
“When patients choose us, they choose a healthcare partner committed to the highest standards of clinical excellence,” said Daniel Post, chief executive officer of Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. “This Magnet designation means our patients can trust they’re receiving care from some of the most skilled and dedicated nursing professionals in the country.”
Post added: “Our patients deserve nothing less than exceptional nursing care, and this Magnet designation validates that we’re delivering on that promise. When families entrust us with their health, they can be confident they’re receiving care that meets the most stringent national standards.”
