Banner Health has announced the appointment of Michael Butler and Carole T. Faig to its Board of Directors, bringing additional experience in healthcare leadership and finance to the organization.

Michael Butler has over 30 years of senior executive experience in the health care industry. He previously led finance, operations, and innovation at Providence Health from 1998 to 2020, helping to establish it as one of the largest health systems in the United States with revenue growth from $2 billion to $25 billion. Butler also led the development of a health plan that now serves more than 1 million members. He is currently founder of Proponent Advisors, a venture firm focused on digital health and sustainability technologies.
Carole T. Faig serves on public and private company boards and is recognized as a leader in the US health industry. She was EY’s US health leader, overseeing strategy for a practice that grew to $600 million under her direction during her 38-year career at EY. As an audit partner, she worked with large integrated health systems, insurers, and biotech firms. Faig is a qualified financial expert under SEC and NYSE rules and currently sits on the board of Henry Schein (HSIC), which is part of the S&P 500.
