Banner Health has announced that Dr. Daniela Abrams has joined its neurosurgery team at Banner Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. Dr. Abrams brings expertise in brain and spine surgery, which will expand access to advanced neurosurgical care for patients in Wyoming and nearby areas.
Dr. Abrams shared her motivation for entering the field: “I cared for a patient with a brain tumor and saw how restoring their function transformed not only their life but also the lives of their loved ones,” she recalled. “That experience stayed with me and confirmed that this was the path I wanted to follow.”
She emphasized her approach to patient care, stating, “The most rewarding part has been witnessing recovery—seeing someone walk again, return to work or simply enjoy time with their family is deeply meaningful.” Dr. Abrams added, “I make sure patients and families feel heard, that their questions are answered, and that they fully understand their options,” she said. “Compassion and transparency are essential to helping them feel supported and empowered, even in overwhelming situations.”
Outside of medicine, Dr. Abrams enjoys outdoor activities with her family as well as creative projects such as design work and home renovations. She noted, “It’s a very different kind of precision work than surgery, but it’s equally rewarding and creative.”
Looking forward to her new role in Casper, Dr. Abrams said, “I’m excited to join a collaborative neurosurgery team and to provide advanced care to patients in Casper and the surrounding region,” she said. “I’m also looking forward to becoming part of a community that values connection and growth.”
Dr. Abrams is also committed to education and mentoring students interested in science or medicine and supports initiatives aimed at expanding access to health care.
