Banner Fort Collins Medical Center announced on March 25 that it will expand its services by opening new clinical spaces dedicated to orthopedic, spine, and oncology surgery. The hospital will hold a dedication ceremony for the newly developed areas on March 31.

The expansion aims to provide more advanced surgical care options for patients in Northern Colorado as the region continues to grow. The additional space supports the Joint Replacement Center of Northern Colorado, a neurosurgery clinic focused on spine care, and expanded oncology surgery services.

“These new spaces allow us to continue expanding the level of care available to patients in our community,” said Alan Qualls, chief executive officer of Banner’s Northern Colorado hospitals. “By bringing together highly specialized physicians and modern clinical facilities, we’re making it easier for patients to receive advanced surgical care close to home.”

The project adds over 10,000 square feet of clinical space designed for specialty care needs. The Joint Replacement Center now includes nine exam rooms and two X-ray suites. Orthopedic specialists such as Kirk Kindsfater, MD; Hunter Aronson, DO; Daniel Heaston, MD; Travis Wilson, MD; Nathan Hawkins, PA-C; Todd Bryce, PA-C; and Carri Miller, PA-C will staff the center after relocating from its previous Drake Road location.

A neurosurgery clinic led by Eric Arias, MD and physician assistant Jocelyn Grigsby will focus on complex spine conditions like herniated discs and spinal stenosis while sharing space with oncology surgery providers from Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Updates also include a fourth operating room and expanded support areas within the hospital.

“Fort Collins and Northern Colorado continue to grow rapidly, and our responsibility is to grow alongside the community,” said Qualls. “Expanding these surgical services and bringing new physicians to the region allow us to meet that demand.”

Banner Health operates facilities across Arizona, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, and Wyoming according to its official website. The organization functions as a nonprofit health system providing substantial community benefits through its activities according to Banner Health. It ranks among the largest nonprofit health systems in the nation according to Banner Health.

Banner Health aims “to simplify health care to improve quality of life,” as stated on its official website.
