Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport announced that Chad R. Makovsky has been selected as Director of the Year for the Large Airports Division by AXN. The airport, which is owned by the City of Phoenix, reports an annual economic impact exceeding $44 billion. On a typical day, about 1,000 aircraft and more than 130,000 passengers use the facility. Phoenix Sky Harbor operates solely on airport-generated revenue and does not rely on tax dollars.

In other developments at the airport, Roxann Favors was named Assistant Director and Chief Revenue Officer for the City of Phoenix Aviation Department in August 2022.
