Arizona Men’s Tennis head coach Clancy Shields announced on May 21 the addition of Tristan Berard, a sophomore transfer from Grand Canyon University.

Berard, originally from Noisy-le-Roi, competed for Grand Canyon University during the 2025-26 season. He played primarily at the No. 1 singles position and achieved 15 singles victories in the spring as a freshman.

In addition to his college play, Berard has participated in multiple professional tournaments at the 25K level and recently earned ATP points. This experience demonstrates his progress against international competition.

“We’re really excited to have Tristan join the program,” Shields said. “I loved watching the way he went about his business this fall. He’s serious about improving, competes the right way, and has a very mature approach to his tennis. He’s the type of person that fits our culture naturally. It’s a great day for Arizona Tennis.”

Berard will join Arizona as a sophomore for the 2026-27 season as part of ongoing efforts by Shields to strengthen the program.
