Paris Johnson Jr., the Arizona Cardinals’ left tackle, has been placed on Injured Reserve for the second consecutive season following a knee injury sustained during Week 14 against the Rams. The injury will keep Johnson out for the final four games of the season, increasing the team’s total number of players currently on IR to 22. Additionally, Sean Murphy-Bunting remains on the Non-Football Injury list.
This count does not include those who were previously on IR and returned or others like Walter Nolen III and BJ Ojulari, who spent significant time on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list before also dealing with injuries.
Defensive lineman Zachary Carter has been promoted from the practice squad to fill Johnson’s spot on the roster. The team is also elevating cornerback Jaden Davis and wide receiver Steven Sims from the practice squad for a second consecutive week.
The Cardinals are set to play against the Bengals in Cincinnati this Sunday and will conclude their season next week in Los Angeles against the Rams.
Johnson had previously missed the last two games of 2024 due to a knee injury. In his absence this season, rookie Josh Fryar has taken over as starting left tackle, with Demontrey Jacobs also seeing playing time at that position.
