Mike LaFleur is preparing for his first free agency period as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. Together with general manager Monti Ossenfort, he will be working to build a roster that reflects the direction he wants for the team in his first year. Owner Michael Bidwill has expressed a desire for a quick turnaround following a disappointing 2025 season.

The wide receiver position is one area drawing attention ahead of free agency. According to OverTheCap.com, several receivers are under contract for 2026: Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson, Andre Baccellia, Jalen Brooks, Xavier Weaver, Ihmir Smith-Marsette, Tejhaun Palmer, and Bryson Green.

Michael Wilson’s performance was one of the few bright spots last season. With Marvin Harrison Jr. dealing with injuries throughout the year—including an appendicitis procedure and a lingering heel issue—Wilson became the top receiver and surpassed 1,000 yards by season’s end. However, injuries were widespread among receivers; Zay Jones, Simi Fehoko, and Andre Baccellia also had their seasons cut short.

With Jones and Greg Dortch expected to enter free agency this offseason, there is added pressure on Ossenfort to strengthen the receiving corps. Beyond Wilson and Harrison Jr., other receivers currently under contract combined for only 12 receptions totaling 126 yards in 2025.

In previous years, notable wide receiver signings by the Cardinals have included A.J. Green (2021), Brice Butler (2018), Ted Ginn (2014), and Sean Morey (2007).

The Arizona Cardinals play their home games in Glendale and serve the greater Phoenix area as part of the NFC West division official website. The franchise is recognized as the oldest continuously operating professional football team in the United States official website. The Cardinals captured an NFC championship in 2008 official website.
