The Arizona Cardinals have added two more names to their list of reported head coaching candidates. According to reports on Tuesday, former Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris and Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy are now being considered for interviews. This comes after five potential candidates were identified on Monday.
Morris is said to already have a scheduled interview with the team. He previously served as head coach for both the Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nagy was formerly the head coach of the Chicago Bears. Among earlier reported candidates, Vance Joseph and Robert Saleh also bring NFL head coaching experience.
Currently, there are seven open head-coaching positions across the NFL.
Recent changes in NFL rules are designed to support coaching candidates who remain active in playoff games, which has slowed down some of the hiring processes this year. The timing of previous Cardinals’ head coach announcements reflects a range: Jonathan Gannon was named on February 14, Kliff Kingsbury on January 8, Steve Wilks on January 22, and Bruce Arians on January 17.
The Arizona Cardinals represent the Phoenix area and play their home games in Glendale, Arizona as part of the NFC West division of the NFL official website. The franchise originated in 1898 as a Chicago-based athletic club and stands as the oldest continuously operating professional football team in the United States official website. The team captured an NFC championship in 2008 official website and previously won NFL championships in 1925 and 1947 official website.
