The Arizona Cardinals made strategic selections in the 2025 NFL Draft, leaving a reshaped and reinforced roster. The team picked Walter Nolen III, a defensive lineman from Ole Miss, as their first-round choice. Nolen, recognized as an All-American, bolsters the Cardinals’ defensive line with his notable record of 6.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in 2024. “Nolen is expected to become a key figure in strengthening the Cardinals’ defensive front.”

In the second round, the Cardinals selected Will Johnson, a cornerback from Michigan. Johnson was projected as a first-round contender despite concerns about his injuries. “Johnson was a top talent who fell due to his injury history, but he’s expected to have an immediate impact.”

Third-round pick Jordan Burch, an edge rusher from Oregon, brings strength and expertise in pressuring quarterbacks, having achieved 11.5 sacks over two seasons. “Burch’s skills will complement an evolving defense.”

In the fourth round, Ohio State’s Cody Simon, an inside linebacker, was added to the roster. Simon is known for his leadership on the field, having been named the defensive MVP in the National Championship game.

The Cardinals’ fifth-round choice was Denzel Burke, a cornerback from Ohio State and an Arizona native. Burke adds local flair and public interest to the team with his roots and has consistently demonstrated his capabilities during his time at Ohio State.

The sixth round saw the team focus on offense by selecting Hayden Conner, a versatile offensive lineman from Texas. Conner’s record of over 550 snaps without a sack is promising for strengthening the offensive lineup.

Finally, the team wrapped up their selections with Kitan Crawford, a safety from Nevada, in the seventh round. Crawford, known for his special teams’ performance, is expected to grow into a regular defensive role while contributing to special teams.

General Manager Monti Ossenfort and Assistant GM Dave Sears are optimistic about the new additions. Ossenfort said the new players are expected to develop and add significant value to the team.
