The Arizona Cardinals Football Club announced on May 13 that the second annual Cardinals Climb: Hike for Special Needs will be held on Feb. 20, 2027 at State Farm Stadium.
The event is significant as it raises funds to support organizations assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. According to the team, all proceeds from the climb go directly to benefit the special needs community.
The inaugural Cardinals Climb took place in February of this year, drawing over 3,500 participants across nearly 200 teams and raising more than $2 million through over 8,000 individual donations. The funds were distributed to sixty organizations supporting people with special needs, including cornerstone beneficiaries Barrow Neurological Foundation, SARRC (Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center), Special Olympics Arizona, and Treasure House. Other groups also received support for programs promoting inclusion and expanding services for those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In addition to hiking trails ending at midfield inside State Farm Stadium, attendees have access to an after party presented by SeatGeek. Last year’s after party featured performances by singer Gavin DeGraw and Grammy-winning band Switchfoot.
Cardinals Climb is supported by partners such as Dignity Health, Desert Financial Credit Union, Gila River Resorts & Casinos, Swire Coca-Cola, and State Farm. The club said these partnerships help expand the impact of the event across Arizona’s IDD community.
The Arizona Cardinals are a professional football team in the NFC West division serving the greater Phoenix area in Arizona. The franchise hosts home games in Glendale at State Farm Stadium and stands as the oldest continuously operating professional football franchise in the United States; it captured an NFC championship in 2008 according to the official website.
