The Arizona Cardinals have made roster adjustments following recent draft additions. Austrian tight end Bernhard Seikovits is among the players released as the team organizes its lineup. Seikovits was part of the NFL’s international player pathway program and spent four seasons with the Cardinals, though he did not appear in any regular-season games.
The Cardinals also released offensive lineman Matthew Jones. Consequently, the roster now contains six players with the surname Jones. These changes bring the roster size to 90 players once all are signed. Previously, Seikovits, with an international exemption, was counted as the 91st player.
The team might consider using the international exemption again for undrafted rookie tackle Valentin Senn, another Austrian, who was a three-year starter at the University of Connecticut and played high school football in Austria.
The Cardinals’ veterans have already commenced their offseason preparations. The incoming rookie class is set to attend rookie minicamp starting May 9, marking the beginning of their NFL careers.
