Salen Hawkins, a former Desert Vista High School star now playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide softball team, will take part in the NCAA Tournament.

The Crimson Tide, entering as a number one seed, open the tournament against the top-seeded Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The opening matchup is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, at 6 p.m. at Devon Park.

On Thursday, June 11, these former City of Phoenix area high school standouts will be in action.

The Tacoma Rainiers earned a 15-3 victory over the Albuquerque Isotopes in their MiLB matchup on Tuesday, June 9.

On Tuesday, June 9, the Augusta GreenJackets defeated the Myrtle Beach Pelicans 5-2 in a Minor League Baseball contest.
