Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport recently utilized social media to share a series of announcements and nostalgic looks into their aviation history. The focus ranged from new business openings to a regular thematic series on past decades in aviation.

On April 23, 2025, Phoenix Sky Harbor shared news about a new addition to its food offerings. The airport celebrated the grand opening of Garrett Popcorn Shops’ first location in Arizona, situated in Terminal 4. The airport invited travelers passing through what it referred to as “America’s Tastiest Airport” to sample the “delicious, gourmet popcorn.” The tweet about this announcement can be found here.

In a follow-up post on April 24, 2025, the airport issued a brief message urging travelers, “Traveling today? Don’t miss this.” The tweet is available for viewing here.

Later the same day, the airport engaged with its audience through a #ThrowbackThursday post. It shared an image from the 1970s depicting a traveler renting a car at one of the terminal’s rental car counters, encapsulated in a tweet accessible here.

Several initiatives have recently been underway at Phoenix Sky Harbor. On August 10, 2022, Breeze Airways announced new services from Phoenix to Charleston and Provo, commencing November 2 of that year. Additionally, the City of Phoenix named Roxann Favors as Assistant Director/Chief Revenue Officer and Jay DeWitt as Assistant Director/Chief Development Officer for the Aviation Department in August 2022, marking significant developments in the airport’s administrative leadership.
