The Arizona Homeschool Theatre Group will present "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" during several performances May 9 through 11.

"Join us as we travel to Narnia, the enchanted land that lies beyond the Wardrobe," the theatre group said in a statement. "Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy will meet the White Witch, Aslan, and all the other beloved and terrible creatures of this magical realm."

"They will find themselves engaged in the battle where love and courage help good triumph over evil. Adventure awaits!" said the statement.

The play is dramatized by Joseph Robinette from the novel by C.S. Lewis, first published in 1950. It tells the story of four siblings who discover a magical wardrobe leading to the land of Narnia. In Narnia, they encounter talking animals and a White Witch who has imposed eternal winter. The story explores themes of bravery, sacrifice, and the battle between good and evil.

The performances will take place at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1212 E. Glendale Avenue in Phoenix, on Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m., Friday, May 10 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Saturday, May 11 at 2 p.m.

The theatre group has two casts for this production. All actors will appear in every show, but their roles vary by cast.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children, students, and seniors, and free for those age two and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door with cash or Venmo, or in advance through Eventbrite.

The play is directed by Kerri Christie, with assistant director Annika Axman and student director Oliver Christie. The fight director for the play is Mitchell Glass.

More information can be found on the theatre group's Facebook page.
